Project Overview:

On a warm spring day back in May 2004, a bubbly and exitable lady skipped into our office buoyed by the exitement of new opportunity - she had decided to start her own online store selling yarn. Without much knowledge as to what this project would all entail from the development side, she was bravely canvassing a number of website development companies in the area to see who could build her dream.

Today, knitwerx.com is a successful, reputable ecommerce website that has built a loyal following of satisfied customers. While Adverdea did not offer the lowest price to build her dream, Sylvia made her decision to have Adverdea develop her logo and website based on the comfort level she had when meeting with us. She was happy that we were more than willing to take the time to listen to her business plan, answer her questions, and explain in 'normal' terms what the project would all include. Our focus, as it is with all projects, was not to create something that looked great; rather, we needed to build something that effectively reached her clients target audience, met her objectives, was reliable and easy to manage, AND looked great.

On the administrative side of the website, easy to use tools were created to manage the products, website members, promotions, and orders. Sylvia still hasn't calmed down from the first time she was able to add a new yarn, edit the prices, change the picture, add it again, edit the price again... From her customer's chair, they are able to browse through a wide selection of yarn and accessories, use a search tool to find exactly what they are looking for, zoom in on products, save things in their shopping cart, sign up as a member to receive notification of special offers, and of course, make a purchase. And when they make a purchase, they can be assured their product will be promptly shipped - Sylvia is still sitting at the other end, smiling as the orders come through.
